In a bid for the award, Butt-Head uses the Power Kick 3000 to kick Beavis in the crotch as an experiment of his fortitude. Beavis and Butthead (both voiced by Judge) are attending the Highland High School Science Fair whereby they hear the winner gets a trip to NASA space camp. But never has the kindred spirits shared by these duos been more felt than in creator-director Mike Judge’s time-travel movie “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.”Īrriving over 25 years after “ Beavis and Butt-Head Do America,” the sequel initially takes place in 1998. There are, of course, other easy similarities: The blond and brunette pairing and their never-ending search for babes.
They’re two metal enthusiasts, dim-witted losers who find real comfort in each other’s company. But until now, that was the last anybody had heard of the project.Beavis and Butt-Head have always been the dirtier, animated cousins to Bill & Ted. The revival would also include multiple spinoffs and movies. In 2020, Comedy Central announced that it ordered a second revival of the show, which would target the Gen Z demographic. It wasn’t until 2014 that Judge spoke about the possibility of reviving the duo once again, but MTV was not interested. The series also featured the first appearance of Daria, who would go on to star in her own hit show also on MTV. In 2011, the duo were back in an official eighth season which consisted of 22 episodes.
The movie followed the boys on a road trip journey to find their stolen television, and later on “score,” all while being chased by the FBI! The film was a commercial success, with a budget of $12 million and earning $63 million at the box office. The popularity of the show naturally lead to 1996’s Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. As one of MTV’s highest-rated shows at the time, Beavis and Butt-Head would continue to wreak havoc on MTV from 1992 all the way through 1997 with seven seasons.
